According to the myth Chariklo is a rivergoddess in the shape of a seanymph/mermaid. So I closed my eyes and saw this romantic, poetic picture: One day Chiron is on the riverbank to drink and ease the pain of his wounded hoof. He sees a beautiful being in the water. Mystified, he steps into the water....until he's waist high...and says:
“Now only halfway immersed in you, your beauty is incomprehensible...
How can you love a maverick like me?.....and yet your waters caress my skin and hooves so mysteriously. I know, I must surrender. You can feel me tremble, I'm ready to explode..... Sister, I humble myself before thee. Chariklo, I must be a heretic in your eyes?”

Chariklo is also one of only five female centaurs and as the partner of Chiron, she represents the feminine half of the wounded healer and wise teacher. How he surrenders his wounded warrior-nature, immersing his soul in love. Recognizing his unity with nature and everything. Chariklo represents the qualities of compassion, tolerance and forgiveness in unlimited proportion. (1)
