about

Prometheus was to be freed on one condition only. An immortal taking his place in the Underworld. Of this Hermes says: ‘Look for no ending to this agony until a god will freely suffer for you. Will take on him your pain, and in your stead descend to where the sun is turned to darkness. The black depth of death’. (from ‘Mythology – timeless tales of gods and heroes’, by Edith Hamilton. Her sources are two poets, Aeschylus (greek) and Ovid (roman))

(The altar of) Chiron: “Hello Hades” (I crossed the river Styx, and I’m at your gate) – walking your landscape – tracing my arrows – ascending - back in the celestial realm. (JKA)

Ironically, Chiron, the master of the healing arts, could not heal himself. So he willingly gave up his immortality. He was honored with a place in the sky, identified by the Greeks as the constellation Centaurus. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiron

The tune is also a meditation on acceptance of mortality and about 'death' in a more positive figurative sense as the plutonian transformations ('the sting of Pluto' represented by the mythical Hydra) we sometimes go through as humans making way for revitalisational 'rebirth'.
